Brandon Collofello Obituary, Death – Brandon Collofello, a dedicated senior at the University of St. Francis, has been bestowed with the prestigious title of Student Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois for the current academic year. This distinction serves as a testament to his outstanding achievements and contributions.
The honor will be formally conferred upon Collofello at the upcoming 39th Annual Student Laureate Award Ceremony. The ceremony is scheduled to take place in the hallowed Hall of Representatives at the Old State Capitol in Springfield on November 2nd. During this event, Collofello will be presented with the Student Laureate Medallion, a certificate of achievement, and a financial award.
The ceremony itself will be conducted under the auspices of Governor Pat Quinn. Collofello’s recognition as a Student Laureate goes beyond his exemplary academic performance. He has excelled not only in his studies but also in various extracurricular activities and endeavors. Currently, he is in the final stages of his pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry, at the University of St. Francis.
Post-graduation, his ambitions lie in the field of medicine, where he aspires to make a meaningful impact. On campus, Collofello is actively engaged as a biology and theology/philosophy tutor. He is also a valued member of numerous campus groups and honor societies, including University Ministry, USF Sustainability Committee, Duns Scotus Honors Program, National Residence Hall Honorary, Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honors Society, Delta Epsilon Sigma, and the National Scholastic Honor Society.
In addition, he holds the Arthur J. Schmitt Scholar designation. Service is a core driving force in Collofello’s life. He has volunteered extensively in the emergency departments at Silver Cross Hospital and Presence Health Saint Joseph Medical Center. His commitment extends to various organizations in the Joliet area, where he has devoted over one hundred hours of his time. Some of the organizations he has contributed to include the Warren Sharp Learning Center.
